Found this fantastic 17 minute documentary from 1935 on how a steam train was manufactured from raw materials.

It's an absolutely fascinating look back in time and absolute respect to those involved. Not a pair of safety specs, hard hats or steel toes in sight even when pouring molten steel biggrin

It would be interesting to apply 'modern' standards to those days. I think we would have made approximately one Spitfire - in 1946. Brunel would have been a crackpot who never won any tenders.
