ferrari 348 spider
Discussion
cheers for the quick response!
I am really keen to buy one early next year, but just want to make sure the car is relatively 'modern' inside and out and has enough modern facilities to make it drivable on an every day basis! Am also worried about no power steering!
Any more tips greatly received!

Like I said in your other post asking nearly the same question....
"Lack of power steering not a problem - the first time I drove it home I actually thought it had it the steering is that responsive. "
The car has a great suspension and steering set up, the electric windows work, the aircon works, it has climate control from 14 deg to 30 deg, it is deceptively spacious inside - and in 1993/4/5 they were probably 5 or 6 years ahead of most standard car manufacturers anyway.
Your profile gives next to no info about you - like where in the country are you? If you're just down the road then come and have a ride in mine.
You're buying a piece of automotive art - try one and you'll see what I mean.
craigw said:Claire's pretty cool! She's slim and blonde, not built like a prop forward or anything. Unlike her husband. When she told me she was getting the 348 I asked her whether the steering and clutch were heavy and she said "a bit, but no problem really". If she could handle it, there's just no excuse for a hairy arsed bloke.
by the way, she sounds grrreat Kevin!
craigw said:Jeez Craig, don't rub it in. At the moment work/life balance is set on 'suck'.
you were missed on sunday by the way.

i am out in north west london, so if you are near, any chance to see one up close would be great. Of course, I feel a bit intimidated about going to my first ferrari garage. I am quite young and will probaly be at the lower end of the ferrari owners bracket!!!
oops, yorkshire not much use then!
email Karl at Verdis, explain your situation, explain that everyone on P.Heads and Ferrarichat seems to recommend him (he knows this already!) and would he mind if you came down to have a look at any 348's he gets in and ask a few questions.
From what I have heard, I would be astounded if you received anything but help and friendliness.

Wouldn't worry mate. I've gone into Ferrari/Maserati garages (even when i was younger) and been treated great. Be honest and explain your situation and you should be treated well. If you're not, go and spend your money elsewhere.
Search the threads on here for recommended garages in and around london. Theres quite a few

If anyone could post any interior picture shots of a 348 spider, that would be great!
Look on all the classifieds - P.Heads, ferrarichat.com - ferrariownersclub.co.uk
Any for sale will usually have interior shots. Black is safer - you'll look long and hard to find Crema in nice condition as it shows wear quite easily.
