Bristol to great roads (brecons)? in south wales...

last minute thing, but I think I might go for a quick blast over to south wales tomorrow if the weather holds up, now I have done a quick route over before up to the devils bridge near rhayader I think, but im not really a fan of the single track tight route up round the reservoir...

so I was thinking of this route...

any one of any thoughts or additions? I want to try and keep it in google maps so I can stick it in the sat nav if possible!

From Chepstow to Monmouth via St Briavels, then drop down onto the valley road at Bigsweir, from Monmouth take the old road to Abergavenny rather than the dual carriageway.
