Has anyone found any?

I often drink coffee at Costa, Pret, Starbucks etc and broadly speaking it's horrible. This afternoon I had an Americano at Patisserie Valerie and that was a whole different level of horrible.

Can anyone recommend a place in Nottingham city centre that does half decent stuff please? Illy is nice, something like that maybe?

I go to Hungry Pumpkin, a small indie café on High Pavement opposite the church which is very nice. They also only use good quality ingredients so the food is always great to.

Is it freshly ground coffee?

I use Cast for business meetings and I recall the coffee being okay, not astounding. I will try Delilah.

I also tried the Illy coffee stand near the Council House today. It was horrible. Now, when I was in Edinburgh a few weeks ago I went to a café a couple of times that sold Illy coffee and it was fantastic. Rich, creamy and Italian. Why the inconsistency?

Doesn't Pret sell Illy?

(Only been to a Pret once, by the council house)

If you ever end up in West Bridgford, forget all the coffee shops except No 8 Deli - best coffee by far.

Don't know but I buy coffee at Pret by the Council House and it's much like drinking pish.

Where's the No. 8 deli then? I saw you mincing past Tudor Square in your Cockster a while back is it somewhere near there?

Yes and those are possibly the most useless directions I have ever received. Are you sure you aren't thinking of the massage parlour?

Yeah, but I know where it is.

It's got a bloody big sign on the front that says something like, oh I dunno, No 8 Delicatessen.
Next door to a fruit and veg shop, and on the other side - you'll know it when I tell you -- is a launderette.

I've seen you go in there with your st stained bed sheets.

(On a more serious note - how are you? Don't seem to have been contributing on much lately?)

I am disgustingly well thank you.

I am no longer smoking a Pawsh, so I haven't been in these parts so much. I have casually considered procuring a GT3 however.

That didn't last too long then - not enjoy it?

A 991 GT3...?

It lasted 18 months and it was like shagging a fit bird. Subjectively excellent.

Maybe a 991 but then again I might look at a 7.2.

In Delilah now, so to speak, coffee excellent and atmosphere good. Thanks for the tip.

Not tried the No. 8 - but always enjoyed the coffee in Copper.

Will do a back to back comparison next time I'm in WB.

Never tried Copper - don't often venture down that end.
Be interested if you find it better than No 8.
