Just had an absolute pig of a time trying to polish my Tuscan. I normally use an autoglym product but on Saturday thought i'd apply some farecla glaze which i hadn't used for months; the product never seemed to dry and consequently was an absolute bcensoredr to get off. Although the car eventually looked ok the light was begining to fade, I fear that in proper sunlight it'll look a mass of smears.

Very frustrating and bloody hard work, my forearms were like Popeye's by the end of it, grr fume!! curse

Sounds weird. I've got a couple of open bottles of g10 and have never had any problems. You sure there's nothing on the surface of the car smearing.

I shared this on my Facebook profile earlier, might be of interest: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.p...

Covers not just polishing a Tuscan but many other interesting maintenance tips too.

Not that i'm aware of, i've used it before no problem so was mystified (as well as frustrated)...

That yellow Chim was a lot easier to polish smile .

The dampish weather doesn't help. Has it been parked near any trees ? .

Indeed it was Keith, the darker colours take more elbow grease. I am wondering if the cooler climate has played a part.

Was it late in the day? Had it a few times where the temp suddenly drops when waxing mine and it becomes like a resin and pretty much impossible to remove

Sure it'll be fine next time. Detailling world is a great forum, you dont have to be as anal as them but it defiantly helps. I use Poor Boys Nattys Paste wax on mine, maybe twice a year and snowfoam in between.

A fantastic product to use in winter time would be one of the Werkstat polishing products.
Don't let the fact that its spray on fool you. Absolutely brilliant stuff once you've built up. A few coats.
Check it out on polished bliss.
Can't recommend highly enough!

Richard, although the temp will make a difference, I have had to throw out some of the glaze stuff before now, looked like it had gone off. Maybe the same has happened to you.

out of interest what do you usually use from Autoglym?

As said the colder weather brings condensation much earlier on in the day, if it gets to this stage and the car is still outside - I just forget the waxing/polishing as it jsut doesn't take at all

Might be worth starting again if you are not happy with it

Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine (for dark cars).
