Hi,
Looking for help once again smile

So, this time 'round, it appeared that my front indicator bulb had blown as it started repeating at that characteristic double/triple time cadence. Decide to take my life in my hands and change the bulb myself (the small side bulb had blown in that unit also) and wow - not that tricky!!! Pleasantly surprised.

And guess what? Still the same problem - figure it may be a duff new bulb so put another in - turn it every which way.... scrape clean the terminals etc and make sure wires intact and good contacts (as far as I could tell) and still no change!!!

ANy dieas anyone???? please..... beer

Or OPC calling???? frown

ps - I mentioned 'this time around' as i had an intermittent issue a while ago - figured bulb blown and then wow and behold - it fixed itself; I obviously had a regenerating bulb smile - even my rudimentary knowledge leans towards some sort of loose connection etc?

Take out the headlight unit and check the continuity between the flasher point in the multi connector and the bulb point for both the earth and live using a meter.

Next check with a meter if the flasher connection point in the live side of housing is working. Do this by earthing the negative meter connector with a crocodile clip and using the +ve meter connector as a probe.

These two avenues will tell you whether there is a fault in the light housing or a fault in the multi connector. Once you know this you can look further.

I have known new bulbs to be faulty so also check the resistance of the bulb with a meter.

Thanks chaps - one made me laugh and the other response made me cringe..... smile

Now need to get a diagram of the multi connector to figure out which pins are which. I guess a faulty multi connector may be the ideal answer now but that then opens up another can of worms I guess.

Or may swing past Northway??

Sorry I cannot help other than to say check the bulb and electrical connection. But I did chuckle imagining you calling a garage with an intermittent indicator problem "Yes Sir they are supposed to switch on and off"

Get an aerosol of switch cleaner/electrical contact cleaner and spray the terminals of the connectors on both the light unit and the car. Not a guaranteed fix but well worth a go and easy and cheap to try.

Is the multiplug pressing home all the way in? It's worth checking the mounting tray as if the plastic holding the plug is flexing or broken then the connector won't push home all the way.
