Who preferred the old Porsche forum?

As a regular poster on PH.I have to say i am a little disappointed in the new format. I think fundamental topics may be me missed.
If the masses prefer this format then fair do's but i would suggest a poll going forward, i preferred everybody to be united which also helped the light hearted banter and humour.

As a fan of all porsches from the 356 to 991, sorry PH but i think its a bad move.

Agree things might be missed as like yourself most Porsche models appeal and rather than keep looking on various links under one was better.

Agree. I don't like this format at all.

In my profile I link only to the Porsche Forum and didn't realise that it had been split until I saw this post but i had noticed that there was a change in the type of posts. Now I know why! Bring back the old one!

I thought the consensus when the idea was floated occasionally was to keep as is..... wouldn't have happened in the Petrol Ted days......

If you look under just Porsche you do see all posts from sub forums together though don't you?

Splitting the section has been talked about for years and always rejected. There is too much commonality between models. What is relevant for 911's is usually of interest to Boxster and Cayman owners as well. In fact technical queries are often marque wide.

It means a lot more work for users and ultimately the social nature of the site will be lost. Anyone planning a meet would have to post in all the separate sections which rather negates having them.

The answer is to boycott the other threads and if posts get moved my moderators trying to enforce the sections stop posting.

I also hadn't realised it had changed and sadly the niche sections aren't repeated in General Porsche.

A shame.

I don't see any difference , I can see posts from various sections under the one header ... PORSCHE.
My command line is PistonHeads > Gsssing Station > Porsche ....

ETA ... When I open a post it then says at the top what sub section it is in.

I agree, I'd keep it as one.

The new Porsche forum titles are also ambiguous. If we do need to split why not a little more clarity:

- 911 (Air & Water)
- Boxster & Cayman (Midship)
- Front engined (924, 944, 968, 928)
- Specials & Classics - 918, CGT, 959, 356, 914 etc

Sounds good to me.

Maybe someone more adept with IT than me could set up a poll to gauge views.

Agree to keep as one. I thought this had come up before and that had been the concensus.

I'm never going to buy a Panamera but it's fun to read the threads about them when they come up.

I did wonder when I noticed the Porsche section changed to Porsche General, if you have favourites turned on you won't see the rest.

Yeah, me too. Prefer it all in one place. Half of it is about the banter and my friends drive all different types of Porsches.

I preferred it as it was. Can't see why there's was a need for change and very much doubt that I will bother looking across the various forums.
