I'm coming to the end of my Bridgestones and my OPC is recommending PS2s.
I've read a couple of recent topics on this forum suggesting they are rubbish - particularly in the wet.
What would you do if you had to have N rated for your extended warranty?
Is anyone running MPSS on Porsche extended warranty?

From my experience, Michelin PS2 or Bridgestone RE050 (N-rated) for a 997 4S under Porsche warranty!I've read a couple of recent topics on this forum suggesting they are rubbish - particularly in the wet.

This is not my experience and I've tried most of the leading brands in recent years. The PS2 imo is superior in the wet to Bridgestones and Pirelli's, and also out shines Conti's once they start to wear down. Thanks guys - I'll stick with the PS2 plan. Maybe AWD will help with some of the wet weather deficiencies.
I'm having other work done at the same time (brakes, geometry) as well as buying 2 year's warranty, and have got the tyre price down to the same as my local tyre fitter, so not too bad and only one trip. However OPC was originally £90 more on each rears and £70 more on each front...

I love PS2 always had them until SS came out.
but not good in the wet confirmed by last pace in most wet tests over others top brand summer tyres.
It's well known and a main area the SS is an improvement.

You must be the only one who thinks that :-)the Pirelli's are night and day better in the wet.
I have both as it happens :-) on the same sort of car, all be it I hate the Pirelli's in the dry so they are now in a mates storage container.
tempted to put them on over winter over the PS2 again, but might just go SS and say sod it, just annoying to dump 2 sets of tyres with loads of life in them ie over 5mm on.

So would I and I did, but not in the wet which is the point of my last post and I back up all my comments with quotes from published tests. and running both tyres at the same time, unlike any one else here I would say who has both on the same sort of car at the same time.I'd take the PS2 or the Bridgestones over the Pirellis any day!
FACTs are FACTs, you cannot say black is white although people seem to here a lot :-)
Def the best dry tyre in it's day (it's a old design now), but the SS now leaves it way behind in both wet and dry (also had 2 sets of SS)
Any one who now chooses to buy a PS2 over a SS needs their head looking at. people quote N spec, but it's a non issue imo, as most buy a 2 year warranty (it's cheaper and easier to sell the car) so to swap tyres over to pass a 111 check (if your OPC is that anal) is no hassle if the net result is you have SS on your car.

It is all 3, not saying it is a crap tyre, I have had 5 or 6 sets of PS2. it was my tyre of choice for the last 5 or 6 years.And I have PS2 still on my R
On normal road cars michelin had to make a better wet tyre hence the PS3, (which a lot of people thought was a PS2 replacement)
but that tyre is not a high end performance tyre so hence the Super Sport.

Plus personal experience of similar tyres on a mid engine rear wheel drive car
Yet the question comes from someone with a 4 wheel drive, rear engined car, and those of us who have also owned the same (or very similar) 4 wheel drive, rear wheel engined cars would beg to differ.
I guess the OP can decide which is most relevant for him!
