Sorry if its been done before.. search wasn't playing this morning.

Planning the scotland trip for next spring and Im a tad worried by the apparent lack of petrol stations once we get past Inverness, One of the cars going has at best 250miles in it.. so with enthusiastic driving thats likely to some down.

Where is there that serves super unleaded up there.. ?

Who me ?

As so often said , for both questions - www.petrolprices.com is your friend .When searching ,select your fuel .
Or you could try asking on the SCOTLAND forum .

Just remember and trade your money for magic beans. They don't accept Sterling any further north!

My experience from last week; of all the petrol stations I visited they were either out of super or didn't stock it and the station by the Skye Bridge didn't even have unleaded at the time of my visit.

There is a discussion on the "Highlands" thread linked by Red Devil with some locations shared by GetCarter.

Normal 95 ron is readily available. You would be better to take some octane booster if you need 98 ron(super). There are a few stations that stock super though.
If you are worried a spare jerry can of petrol will get you to any petrol station.
The main thing that you should pay attention to is that on a sunday God rules and everything shuts including a lot of petrol stations.

This one is usually OK for super unleaded. I have been on our annual club bash for 4 of the last 5 years. We stay in Ullapool for the weekend and I don't recall it being shut on Sunday.

Minor note but despite the colour scheme this isn't a Shell site - they sold pretty much all their sites north/west of Inverness to Gleaner a few years ago - http://gleaner.co.uk/network.html - this might help you locate some of them.

Marvellous.

Thanks guys. The planning can get underway. - that Ullapool one looks like the key one to hit at the beginning of the 'top of the world loop'

I've seen some (such as Scourie) that now are pay at the pump so I'd expect them to be open 24/7.

I rode around the Highlands in August and there were even more petrol stops than that map would suggest. The only problem I came across was that they were often open for a couple of hours a day - 7 o'clock on Sunday morning in John o'Groats is not the time for an emergency fuel stop!
