Are there any discounts to be had for a new cayenne?

Local opc tells me Porsche don't do discounts but I'm not sure that's true in the case of a model that has been around for 3 years.

Any anecdotal evidence would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

see if they have a car in stock or a pre registered delivery mile car then there is room for a discount but otherwise a factory order is a lot harder.worth ringing around the dealerships/groups

I've spoken to the dealer and the only cars available have huge specs.

I went through this the same time last year, the OPC tried to get me into a used car that was 5k more than what I had specified for a new one, I kept getting the line that there was a huge waiting list and I wouldn't get one until spring blah blah blah finally I went to the local MB dealership and bought a new ML that was pre-registered but with a 15% discount.

A week later the OPC called to say had just received a December build that I could spec myself, too late was the cry and he virtually hung up on me saying I should have told him I was looking at other Marques sooner, in other words the December car was always available but he wanted to get shot of his highly specced pre registered one first.

So now I know what they're about, I'm going to go and tell them I want one for before the end of the year but before I do I want to know if I can haggle a discount or not.

Btw I really don't want to buy from a non local dealer, I bought a new C63 AMG last year from a dealer that was 150 miles away and when I got home and went over the car with a fine tooth comb I found a scratch in the panoramic roof glass, first thing the dealer said was bring it back for us to see.......

its really not that hard buying from a non local dealer and in my experience you get a better deal.remember a lot of dealers are in the same holding group,ie my old cayman came from Glasgow but I bought from Silverstone which are the sytner group.my spyder came from Sheffield which was 200 miles away but worth the drive and the whole deal was done on the phone and a pleasant experience.so as said before ring around.

I'm in a similar position looking at Cayman/Boxsters. My local OPC has a Boxster S that's probably 3k over what I'd want to pay but so far they haven't seemed willing to move on price. I think I may need to be more direct and just tell them 'for x I'll take the car' but I absolutely suck at this sort of stuff!

We looked at getting a high spec Cayenne Diesel, it was there ready to be sold, was offered £500...It was better to order new! Their excuse (when we mentioned how much we can get off Mercedes) Porsche sell a much smaller amount of cars compared to Mercedes, Porsche can't offer a larger discount.

In the last couple of years, discounts have been reasonably slim on Cayennes. It is such a good seller for them, the dealers don't need to discount.

However, with the launch of the Macan I can see a reasonable chunk of Cayenne buyers moving to the Macan so they may well be inclined to offer discounts on the Cayenne at that point. However that won't be for a year at least.

It's a tricky situation, but if it's what you want just get it. OK the discount isn't there, but from what I understand it's a better car than the Merc and feels and looks like a quality product.
