Split soft top screen - repair?

My friend has split the screen in his MX5 and has been quoted 550 quids for a replacement top. Are there any firms out there near CArdiff that may just be able to repair the screen?

Even better, there are some companies out there that will replace the screen with a glass one.

I got a replacement mohair hood for my wife's MX5, it was cheaper than a Mazda replacement but did take 6 months to loosen up. It's very good quality and has the glass rear screen. I seem to remember they do replacement rear windows as well but it's a fiddly job.
