Discussion
I am seriously considering adding a cab for a weekend/fun car.
Now have looked at a few 993 cabs online and seen a few I like, but just been browsing through 911Virgin stock and saw two nice looking 993 C2 but for same price there was a 997 C2S or £12k less a higher mileage 996 4CS Tip.
So what is best buy?
Considering depreciation, though would like to keep car.
Also running costs.

The prices should tell you something, but at the end of day do you prefer beer or lager, tea or coffee; it is highly subjective. Go and have a look and a chat.
Well prefer beer and coffee, but not at the same time!Reason for asking was to help make general decision on model first, it was 993 I was thinking of initially.
Long way to call for a chat but I know what you mean, I am trying to find somewhere more local to look.
Will be calling at SCOM next week for a browse and a couple of test drives
Well personally I'd have a coupe over a 911 cab. Of the 3 I'd say the 997 looks best as a cab.
993 C2 - oldest, zero depreciation, but higher running costs.
996 C4S - low depreciation, lower running costs, but potential engine issues (as all n/a 996).
997 C2S - newest, higher depreciation, lower running costs, potential engine issues(as all n/a 997 Gen 1).
Have you considered a 964 or 3.2 Carrera cab. If it was a weekend car and had to be a 911 cab I'd go 3.2!
If you don't need 2+2 why not look at a Gen 2 Boxster S (designed as a convertible, newer, no engine issues)?
993 C2 - oldest, zero depreciation, but higher running costs.
996 C4S - low depreciation, lower running costs, but potential engine issues (as all n/a 996).
997 C2S - newest, higher depreciation, lower running costs, potential engine issues(as all n/a 997 Gen 1).

Hi, thanks for your thoughts.993 C2 - oldest, zero depreciation, but higher running costs.

I have thought of a 3.2, just finding one or right one.
As to coupe or Boxster. I have a 981 Cayman so wanted something different, hence edging more to older models.

3.2 Cab
3.2 Targa
964 Cab (Sold, but example)
Other option would be a Caterham (performance) or Mercedes 300 SL 1987-88 (relaxed).
