Discussion
Just going through my SIPP online and I have a couple of questions if anyone can help me?
Since 2006 the fund has increased by 38%. That appears to me, a layman to be a good return. Does that sound about right?
On my statement it says 'Cash available to invest £---' 5.61 % of my fund.
What does this mean? The other 94% is invested.
Thanks in advance.

Depends where you are invested. FTSE (ex dividends) up about 15% since Jan 06, Dow about 40%. With divs US is more like 80%.Official UK inflation since 2006 is 23%.

Most likely it's the cash generated by dividend payments that has been paid to your account and is sitting there waiting for you to re-invest it.What does this mean? The other 94% is invested.

Cheers for the reply. Can I instruct my SIPP provider to invest the cash available for me?
Yep, that's what puts the SI into SIPP. You appear to be quite hands off so I would recommend you look at low cost passive tracker ETFs such as Vanguard and (some, not all, read the fees small print) HSBC.Gassing Station | Finance | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
