Working at height/Rope access jobs.

Hi everyone.
Are there any full time, professional Rope access or working at height people on here? I am only of many UK Police officers that are fed up and disillusioned at how the job is going and am looking to get out.
For the last 4 years I have been training in work as a working at height/Protestor removal specialist and was thinking about what work there might be out there for me if I was to jump ship? I love this line of work and its about the only think keeping me in the job at the moment, even though I don't train as much as I would like to.
I have been an officer since I was 21 and its pretty much all I know about, although I am quick to learn and have a variety of GCSE's and 'A' levels. I have just turned 35years and do not want to carry on wishing my life away.
So what jobs are people doing, what are wages like and would you recommend it as a full time career.

Hi mate, I'm starting a new career as an overhead linesman working on electricity supply. That involves climbing up poles and using cherry pickers. Worth looking at.

Money not fantastic to start with but it's not unheard of linesman making 50-60k a year with OT.

Don't know if it will provide full time employment.
The way that Police budgets are being cut could you form a team and contract out your services all over the country?

Do rope access and non destructive testing and there is a lot of work in the oil and gas industry earning good money if you don't mind spending a few weeks away each time
