Icing on the cake !

Well this weekend topped off a massive year for us, becoming the first 8’s FWD car in the UK. It’s taken a lot of effort, development, late nights, long weekends, sweat, blood and tears to do it but finally became the first FWD to get in to the 8’s.

Well done guys, run looked nice and straight really, although in guessing the high terminal speed reflects the lower amount of grip overall that your driving wheels have.

Bit quicker than my FTO (or FTSLOW we called it) I had back in the day. It was a GS and struggled to do 20 second when I took it to a 1/4 mile day.

Well done!

A 20? Shocking lol, my 998cc mini ran 23 seconds as standard and 18.8 was its best after playing with it a little lol (0-60 time down from 23 seconds to 12).

PMSL!

It had a ported and polished head, Kent 266 cam, Alloy inlet manifold, improved exhaust (twin exit DTM 1.75" with a proper branched manifold), free flowing filter and a change of carb needle... Really it needed a bigger carb and some mods to help when i spun it high. I used to turn it 8500 rpms - until the circlips nipped off on one of the gudgeon pins and went sliding up and down the bore.... could really have done with spirolocs or something, and some top end work too.
