Most unusual thing you have collided with whilst cycling

On Sunday I had a new cycling experience. Whilst doing just over 50km/h I collided with a rather large object. Thankfully, it hit me in the arm rather than me cycling into it with my wheel. Had I cycled into it I would almost certainly have come off. As it was it was just a heavy thud into my arm, which resulted in me laughing, rather than large amounts of road rash and pain.

So, Mrs. Pheasant who couldn't decide whether she was crossing, or stopping, or crossing, or stopping, thank you for taking flight and not remaining on the road. I hope that you are okay!

Probably not that unusual but a butterfly. It surprised me how solid it felt at ~15mph.

Not me exactly, but was following a mate down a very fast, dutsy trail on a night ride a few summers back.

Did notice a point where there was a lot more dust, but in the mayhem never really thought much of it until we got to the bottom of the tral and my mate said he saw a badger run out and felt it hit his back wheel.

That reminds me, I once ran over a squirrel (both tyres) on my mountain bike, when I was about 13. It went like this:
Friend: "watch out for that squirrel"
Me: "what squirrel?"

I had a squirrel bounce off my front wheel rim; it ran off, apparently unharmed.

I've also bunny hopped a live bunny.

I was taken out by a deer a few years ago - it was unscathed apparently, I ended up with bad road rash and a broken wrist.

Similar to mine, but I went right over the middle of it. I stopped and it was dragging itself to the side of the road, back legs no longer working. I felt bad

So nearly hit a Fox at 35ish the other day at Afan, dhead did the usual trick of being spooked and running back towards it's safe haven, even though the route crossed my path.

Trees, fences and sheep obviously, hardly unusual.

Mate of my had to go for the full emergency stop in Whistler for a Bear, stopped about a meter short, shat himself and had to scoot off, he'd lost his mech and chain earlier that day.

Mate of mine fell off into a hedge and landed on a badger- scared the sh*t out of both of them :-)

I had a wood pigeon startled by something in a field fly out of a hedge straight into my rear wheel- that was a bl**dy mess I did not enjoy cleaning off the bike!

In the dark I managed to clip a fox's tail and get hit square in the face by a bat within about 200yrds.

A fat man. He ran out from behind a van without looking. Hit him at >25kph. Whilst I was on the deck, he said "sorry mate, I'm late for work" and wobbled off.

Fortunately, his fleshy physique cushioned the impact and the bike was fine.

A Renault Fuego with 12 foot lengths of 2"x2" sticking out the back, this was in the snow too on a Raleigh Grifter.

I ended up threaded between the staves.

full size deer ... group of 6 deer ran thru the group I was in and one attempted to jump over me, but didn't quite manage it. kicked me in the head, somehow managed to stay upright. But I did have to sit down for 10 mins before I could continue to (the cafe)

A Morris Minor Countryman, my LX brake lever dented the wood trim which the driver was most upset about! It was the first drive after a full restoration .... oops.
