An intriguing statement from the DM, as far as I am aware, most of the bombs which were dropped on the ships yet failed to explode did so because they were released below the minimum altitude required for them to arm.

There were reports at the time that the Arg C130s had been throwing bombs out of the cargo bay at British shipping.

Admiral Woodward referred to it in his book 'One Hundred Days' as did the Bearded One.

I read that too. Not sure if it was one of those books or somewhere else but I recall reading that in one instance a bomb rolled out of the ramp of a Hercules bounced off the bow of an unescorted tanker on its way South. I'd say that made it a pretty effective bomber - but fortunately a pretty ineffective bomb.

Also remember reading that another (or maybe the same) C130 doing the same thing came close to swallowing a Sea Dart for its trouble - but a salted up microswitch meant they couldn't get the missile onto the T42s launcher despite frantic hammering to try to get the stuck hatch on the focsle open.
