Right I am finally going to have it out with my incompetent garage today.

They have had my car for three months andvachieved almost nothing, car went into them with noisy starter motor, traction control light coming on at 4k and no clutch.

Car had struggled for first and second but other gears fine, lost clutch pedal then nothing so car was recovered to garage.

I have been back in the country three weeks in the past six months but easy to get hold off as is my wife. The only thing they have addressed and badly at that is the clutch.

Spoke to mechanic and said symptoms show either new clutch or slave and master cylinder. Month forward nothing has been done at all, I have polite words and they come mechanic insistent definitely needs new clutch. Couple of days later oh it definately the clutch, we have changed the slave and master and that has not solved it, understandably miffed they did not just changed the whole clutch I head of back to Saudi.

Fast forward a month, come home, no progress at all, oh we want someone to check it's not the gearbox before the new clutch goes in, I said the fact the car was in the workshop andvtwo cars behind it completely in pieces with engine out showed car had nit moved at all since I was last in UK that he had now another four weeks to do this and could have rung me, promises by the end of the week clutch will be done, call two days before I leave the country oh still not done off back to Saudi, with a leaving line if stop taking the possible it better be done on my return.

Month later ie yesterday pitch up and garage is closed. Ring mechanic. Oh I have been waiting for you to ring I tried to call (no he did not, me nor my wife) apparently new clutch is in but it's not that it's the driveshaft that's the problem. Why am I just finding this out now, properly angry now, used the guy for years always been spot on but never particularly fast but this is something else.

Basically had enough he has managed in 11 weeks to fit a clutch, that is it, also wants to charge labour for slave and master even though adamant it was whole clutch from the start, no communication and clearly out of his depth with the job obviously with carving bits I have been snookered for going elsewhere. Going to speak to him at garage today and it will be sorted one way or another.
