'06 Maserati GT
Discussion
Did anyone see the artist's impression of the '06 coupe in Autocar a couple of weeks back? It looked fabulous.
Let's just hope that the real thing is as good looking (I'm sure both the 612 and Quatroporte will be "growers" but they still don't look a patch on the artist impressions that were officially sanctioned by Pininfarina).

I've had a search on Autocar's website but can't find anything
The same artist's impression was used in the letter section last week as one reader claimed it was good looking enough for him to cancel the DB9 order!
I've also done a bit of a websearch as the picture had "DE LUSI" at the side of it. No luck though.

And if you look at the top photo its obvious; there is no recess behind the door handle, whilst there is on the drivers door.
Whoever put the door handle on couldn't hang a picture straight to save his life too, I'd venture.
Would have expected the drivers door to be larger, however. Proportionally it looks like a four door.

Comparing the side view pictures with the present coupe, the doors are way too short. Lengthen them and put in a smaller rear window and you have a 2-door QP with a shorter wheelbase.
Should make a very handsome 2 plus 2, but it'll be difficult for them not to tread on Ferrari's toes!

Dunno Ian, if its priced correctly, the premium brand has nothing to fear. I wonder if the fake doors will make it into production?
Bit of a conundrum isn't it?
Given that Ferraris are superlative cars, the premium is justified, but with Maserati now under such good management (and using Ferrari components) they're catching up fast.
Will Ferrari's name alone justify the premium? They'll have the good sense to keep Maserati one step back, but perhaps it all goes to show that success in F1 really does matter!
(Owe you one too Greg!)

Never been a 4WD Maserati yet, and nobody is anticipating one as far as I know.
Won't the Kubang be 4wd ???
Hmmm well if they make it - not heard anything about production yet. Given the close links Maserati seem to be developing to VW regarding possible QP platform share I'd hope perhaps that they'd leave the germans to make Touraegs / Cayennes / X5's and concentrate on making beautiful machines instead..
You are of course right though, I should have said 4WD production Maserati...
