Double Glazing and BiFold Doors
Discussion
Hi,
I've recently completely rebuilt a bungalow and have installed 3 sets of bi-fold doors.
One is a 3 panel door in white UPVC and the other 2 are 4 panel doors in white powder coated aluminium, they came from Kloeber.
I found them easy to deal with, their own installation team was polite and very helpful and made an excellent job.
They have been installed for 9 months now with no problems

Awesome, I'll give them a try! Out of interest, What ones do you think are best? Aluminium or UPVC?I've recently completely rebuilt a bungalow and have installed 3 sets of bi-fold doors.

If you are having anything above 3 doors you really cant have UPVC as it may "bend" under the weight of the doors. Apart from that I really don't have a preference, although UPVC is cheaper

You will only have issues with upvc Bi Folds if they are not using good quality hardware and the best one on the market is a eurocell BI Fold
The only thing to be aware of is using uovc Bi fold door foiled in direct sunlight (southwest facing) as they will expand in the heat
Hope this helps

I used Best Windows in Kings Langley.
They sell Rehau windows which are excellent quality and at reasonable prices.
Pretty much a 1 man show so not the most professional seeming company but have delivered on time for me and were very competitive. they don't do all the usual haggling BS you get with most windows salesman.
As for PVC or Aluminium bifolds we looked into it extensively and ended up with French doors! For the smallish opening we had PVC would have ended up with way too much frame and not enough glass (we looked at slimline frames but they were very flimsy) and the aluminium ones (which had thinner frames) were much more expensive...
