Just thought i would give the above a mention as i popped in for a quick visit yesterday prior to attending yet another job interview!!

In the hanger is a Javelin, two Meteors, an E28, an ex Battle of Britain film replica Hurricane (minus its wings), a video & a few scale models.

Outside there is a Vulcan nose section, a Harrier nose section & another Meteor along with some other aviation related odds & sods.

Initial impression is that the museum has been set up with virtually no money (which is a fact) so the inside of the hanger is a little sparse however having set up a museum from scratch myself a few years ago i now how difficult it is.

They have some big plans for the future as they want to safeguard the aircraft they currently have rather than leave them to rot away outside - the big stumbling block, as ever, is money.

I think that they should be congratulated on their efforts so far & i would urge anyone in the area on a Saturday or Sunday to drop by & have a look.

Entry is free at the moment & they are currently only open at weekends. The venture should be supported & applauded & i will taking a further trip next week, armed with camera, to have a proper look around.

They also have a nice big car park which would be ideal for PH meets.......
