It has been 12 months since my 100HP has had a service. I've owned the car since January and it has 32,500 miles, because the car is new to me I am going to carry out the bigger 36,000 mile service and get it out the way. Could someone please confirm what needs to be done in this service as I am struggling to confirm.

Finally, what should I be paying? I've had quotes ranging from £275 to £400 at main Fiat dealers which seems rather high even for a bigger service.

I just got a major one done for £190 with my normal local guy. Its well out of sync due to very odd service schedule before I got it, so I cant say what needs to be done at your mileage.

Looking at the invoice he changed pretty much everything that needs changing in a major service. So I'm happy. I don't have it with so cant list them for you. Sorry.

Depending on its age, you might also need to think about the cambelt..

I want a full service and cambelt change on mine. 6 years old/34k miles. Any tips on where to go in the Midlands for trusted independent service?

The 36k is Oil&FIlter, Plugs, Pollen Filter, Air filter, brake fluid and cambelt *check*. Never really worked out how you can check a cambelt but there you go. You wanna be looking at around the £300-£350 mark at a Fiat main dealer and your cambelt is due at 72k or 5 years (make sure to do the water pump at the same time).

There's quite a lot on the web about Fiat halving the cambelt mileage advice (down to 36k), and I know that Alfa certainly did this on some models. If in doubt, I'd change it - the consequence of not is too risky!

I bought my cambelt kit / water pump from shop4parts and my trusted independant did the job. All in, it cost about £230.

How much is a new cambelt?

From what you're saying I should consider changing it now. Seems a little premature though, surely it can last another year or so (annual milage 10k).
