The pic on the BBC news article seems to show the logos on the fuselage and tail painted over - a strange and futile attempt to cover up?

How not to handle a corporate crisis: lesson number one. Thai Airways tried to black out the airline’s logo on a plane that skidded off the runway today at Bangkok airport, injuring 14 passengers.
After the accident workers on a crane erased the name on the tail and body of the aircraft, in accordance with Star Alliance guidelines on crisis management. It was the second mishap in less than two weeks for Thailand’s national carrier.
The Airbus A330-300, which departed from Guangzhou, in China, had a “glitch” in its wheel base while landing at Suvarnabhumi airport late on Sunday, the airline said.

Apparently it seems to be common practice to attempt to protect the brand, I guess because logos are far easier to associate than a livery.
