Ecu failure

Further to my posting recently about rough running after a lot of discussion and testing this and that I think the ecu my
have fault.
Does anyone have experience in disconnecting it and any problems when reconnecting. I think what I need to do is fit a known good one and see how it goes. How does one go about getting an ecu tested? Does any one have a good one I can purchase or at least borrow (having made suitable arrangements)

I have one (condition unknown but they are generally pretty reliable) you are welcome to borrow and later purchase if needed.

Andrew,

Would be very interested in how you get on. Similar sort of issues but mine didn't reset when I turned off the ignition and now it doesn't start at all. One of the many thoughts is an ECU failure but was doing the other bits first - chasing why fuel pump didn't prime at last attempt!

I'm going to have mine tested £35 see how I stand with that, if all OK I can start looking else where. These EEC1V are pretty reliable so I am told but I've got to get to the bottom of this. Tested TPS today that seems fine.
