Has anyone used this service? I am tempted to sign up but didn't want to pay out £100 for what might just be a fancy newsletter. Has anyone used this advice/service to any great effect that could shed some more light?

Thanks

From my own perspective I think there is enough free info on the internet places like Yahoo Finance (which I frequently use) I also find Bloomberg content useful too. There are far too many 'experts' in this world as far as I can see and the number of people who post up things like I sold my shares in that company a couple of weeks ago because some experts said so is all too common. I read and listen to a lot of news but always act on my own instincts/gut feeling, ok if you pay for a subscribed service like you mention there may be useful info but I'm willing to suggest it is probably dealt with somewhere else for free.

To be honest I think there's enough free stuff out there not to need to subscribe to any one journal. Plus (IMO) the more sources you use to do your research the better the basis for your decision.

I'm not familiar with the MFSA and as others have said you might do better not to rely on a newsletter that costs money when there is so much info freely available.

The exception is that (for any source, not just this one) if the performance is worth it, buy it.

If the recommendations give (and are expected to continue to give) say 50% return per year, and the respective index produces 10%, that's 40% outperformance. If you have a £10k fund, that's £4k of value in exchange for £1.2k cost.

You've got to be very confident that the outperformance will be there in future though, and it usually won't be!

I look at google finance to check on the progress (demise) of my holdings in lloyds. At the right hand side there's links to articles, mainly the fools.

When the fool says I sold my lloyds holding they go up and when they buy them they go down. Id use that as a measure as to ignore what they say.
