Can you respray a carbon frame / fork

My missus is looking to change the colour of her Carbon framed Giant - it's a rather bland silvery grey and she's looking to change to something like the Bianci duck egg blue colour…

… is it possible to respray a carbon frame and fork, and if so, any suggestions on where to get it done?? (we are up in Glasgow)

Yes, in theory. In practice it has to be stripped by hand and so is uneconomic to do so.

maybe look at stickers? A full wrap shouldn't be too hard for a professional

You dont have to strip all the paint off, you could just key the surface with red Scotch bright and then spray over the OE paint job. You will be adding some grams but itll look better. If you need new Grphics for it I can recommned DangerousB on here. Hes just supplied me replacemnt Specialized decals and they are spot on.

I'm in the middle of a respray project on my Giant carbon trinity. It is so labour intensive compared to a metal frame. If you are just painting the whole frame I'd go with a key light sand and then paint. If you want the carbon weave on show like I'm doing then that's where the labour really kicks in. Their are strippers available but I think the price is a bit steep and you might run the risk of ruining the frame if it gets to the gelcoat.
