Tyre Inspiration

Looking for some inspiration. Bike is a Cannondale Rize 4. 130mm FS. Been running Nobby Nics, and need to change. My riding is XC and trail centres like Afan, though I do plenty of natural rides.
What recommendations do the PH masses have for new tyres. Not tubeless, as my front wheel is a Mavic crossride. 26 inch wheels.

I have a Maxxis Ignitor eXCeption 62a compound front which grips like a fat girl at the start of a slow dance. I normally run a Maxxis Larsen TT at the rear which is super fast in good weather or trail centres with good drainage but will probably change that to a Maxxis Ardent for the winter as the Larsen isnt that deep and doesnt clean itself that well.

Geax Datura. Its not light, grips well and so far is pretty puncture resistant.

I use Panaracer CG XC on the rear of my bike and I think it's amazing. I have ridden Dalby Forest in snow/ice, dry and mud and it never slipped out once (apart from when I tried to drift on ice).

I recommend it to anyone I can.

On the assumption they're still available, and that your frame can take them, then Maxxis Advantage in 2.25 trim. They size up VERY fat (even in 2.25: they're more volume than other 2.4s/2.5s!) but as a result you float over everything. Run 'em on my HT in Wales and they've never let me down.

What's up with the Nics? I really like mine after trying loads of different rubber.

I run 2.1" Double Defense (tubes) and can't remember when I last had a puncture.

Just gone to HAns dampf,pace star and I find them really grippy, but my god they roll slowly!

Something grippy on the front and fast on the back - Crossmark rear has been great for me paired with Advantage, Fat Albert or Hans Dampf. I have a Racing Ralph on the back of my 29er and it's OK but very thin so can get cut by stones easily.

I like Conti Rubber Queen 2.2's, I find them perfect for trail centres, but only in Black Chilli, not the stty Taiwanese OE ones, they're also handy in mud away from the man made stuff.

That sort of stuff really seems to be their limit though, on faster stuff like the Alps and Bike Park Wales, I've really struggling with the soft cases, they don't seem to have tyre walls and they flex and squirm about, I'm going back to 2.35 Maxxis DH tyres for the Park.
