Scotland's Hidden Gems?

Hi All,
This thread might completely fall on it's arse, however, I thought it would be a good idea to perhaps have a thread that we can all "bounce" off either other and share some experiences of restaurants, roads, shops, bars etc.
With tourism growing each year, I think it would be good to have a thread for places or things you have been to in the past but perhaps other PH'er haven't heard of. For example, there is a cafe in Dalkeith, that does the best bacon roll and chips I've ever had!
Hopefully a kind Moderator can sticky this for us and we can share our wee hidden gems with one another!

The best gym in Central region is definately Ship Shape Fitness Studio.
Don't eat fish & chips, but the milk bar just past Glen Village in Falkirk do some awesome ice cream, coffee and have a good wee play area. About 2 mins from my house and nice views as you are up the hill a bit.
If you like a bit of camping or caravaning, then Cobbleland beside Aberfoyle is great. Nice site and if you walk out the back of the site you have the forrest and the river forth.

If ever in the south west of Scotland there are a lot of hidden gems serving local produce, but for chip shops, you can't beat Polar Bites in Kirkcudbright. Fresh scallops off the boats are a treat, as are their haddock suppers. Not the cheapest around but always queued out the door.
The roads around there are also great for hooning around in, especially the Queens Way from New Galloway to Newton Stewart

Mallaig - little fish shop next to the station . Good fresh fish and ( if he can get herring) one of the best kippers to come out of what was once one of the biggest herring ports in Scotland ---Jaffy's fish shop .

The delny ranch. Just up past invergordon and before tain. 5 minutes off the A9 and zero phone signal. Its a little off the beaten track but so worth it. Theres a dozen or so log cabins for hire and its a great break away.

The Fjord Inn in Fisherford is spot on, if you like your food and don't mind the 70's decor.

A couple in Angus. Glen Clova Hotel. Tucked away up near the end of Glen Clova, er, road for the last few miles definitely NOT for hooning. But, great food, locally sourced specially the Lamb. Then there's the Venison!! Real ale on tap, accomodation available.
Anchor Hotel in Gourdon. Beautifully presented fresh sea food (seasonable) laid back, informal, basically a pub with food (to die for) Again, great range of real Ales.
