Anyone out there know of an insurer I can get an annual policy with that covers motorcycle touring holidays and winter sports and doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

TIA.

I've found Options to be good value in the recent past.

Cheers Beano500. I'll give them a try. It's so difficult to find a good insurer that covers biking. You'd think I wanted to bungee jump while juggling with knives or something the way some of the policies are worded!

Sorry - I have to take that back. I see in the small print no two wheelers

(I could have sworn I bought an Options policy one year when I was m/cycling, but that would be about 2000 and I haven't got the paperwork any more.....)

Ditto, I was going to suggest Select who I've found very good for winter sports and paragliding. But the small print says 'Any claim arising from using a two-wheeled motor vehicle' is not covered.

But surely your motorbike insurance would cover that part as it's a touring holiday (no different to taking the car abroad I would have thought) and travel insurance would cover the rest.

The RAC were the only outfit I could find that didn't have a restriction limiting cover for 2 wheels to 125cc.

Oh, RAC - perhaps that's who I used (last time I went abroad on two wheels was a trip through France when we had that solar eclipse...

...now that was a fun week!)

I've used Egg for the last three years;

So as long as you hold a license you should be OK. The Egg card also includes a certain level of travel insurance as standard.

Thanks all, Egg it is.

Anyone else needing cover should note that the policy only covers loss from a vehicle if goods taken forcibly from a locked boot, but my house insurance covers stuff away from home so it was really only the medical bit that I needed anyway.
