New BMW 7 series - ugly or what?

I saw a couple of new BMW 7 series over the weekend, styling reminds me of the new Volvos. The rear bootlid appears to have been an afterthought, just tacked on top of the opening, front not much better. Ugly, ugly, ugly.

That's what I originally thought, but they've grown on me. Seems to be an awesome piece of machinery, subject to putting a proper engine in it..

it's ceratinly got road prescence, but I agree on the bootlid - rear quarter is particularly clumsy styling

I like it.

I'd rather have an Audi for my own transport though.

A very colour sensitive design, but it's growing on me. It certainly lacks the elegance of previous BM's.
It also needs the big wheel option to fill out those arches.

I'm still undecided on the new Z4 as well. I certainly think it's much bolder than the boring Z3, but the recent press picces make the back end look too small compared to it's nose.

Im with Carzz on this one , at first i really did not like it but now i have seen a few i quite ike them , i saw one in Puerto Banus with huge wheels and it looked really good .....but Bangle is still mad

The new seven series certainly wouldn't stop me buying a Merc S class.

i also hated the new 7 when i first saw it.
but please, please, get yourself a test drive.
they can leave an S-class standing.

I would not care, it is so ugly (not that I would buy an S class either).
