430 Spider or Berlinetta!

Just clarified with Maranellos, I wont be able to swop my 430 Deposit around the models once I find out if I life the Spider or not..

I have yet to see a 430 Spider shot... so am left with 2 options.

a) Stick with the Berlinetta and be safe.
b) Stick a deposit down on both, and then pull out of one later.


B has some appeal to it, as I might make a quid or two selling the slot on.. any thoughts on this ?

I had a provisional order in, but they will let me change now but I have to make the decision.

I must say, I do prefer the look of the 360 Modena, to the Spider atm, BUT, am aware thay Spiders do command a better resale residual (or even premium!)

Any thoughts appreciated.

Depends where in the Q you are I think.

If you're near the front - get both - sell on at a premium...

If you're not so near the front of the queue (and I was in your shoes) I'd get the coupe as it'll arrive sooner - and I just hate waiting...

Got an image of the spider from them.

Provisional delivery of 2007 (worst case) I have been informed for the Berlinetta, 2008 for the Spider..

But I am told there should be some movement in times as they approach build.

Get a coupe now, and put deposit down on the 430CS.
It's be worth missing the spyder for the CS when it does come in 2012 or whenever..

A friend of mine has just strolled into a rari dealer and placed an order on a 430 spider for mid 2006 delivery... not bad at all

I am talking to maranellos.

He said he could 'fib' to me and promise a sooner delivery... but would prefer to play down times, so I get a 'reaslistic expectation'

he said a Berlinetta could be as quick as 6 mths .. but best to count on 2 yrs..

maybe the same for your mate.. just with the dealer being a little moreoptimistic.

what spec he ordering?

Exactly what I was thinking - you'll make £10,000 on the F430 and move straight on to a spider.
