Apologies for posting this in here, but thought it might be better in here if other cyclists have had similar pain before and remedies.

I have been riding for about 9 weeks now (8 weeks MTB and 1 week road bike) and after last nights ride, I've got a bit of pain behind my knee on the outside of the leg (both legs, left is sorer than the right), and the pain is on something that feels quite thin and can be compressed, like a muscle / bone, but isn't, so not sure if this is the Iliotibial band I've been reading about. Last night's ride was the furthest I have done of any of my rides at just shy of 16 miles.

Is this pain normal at all? I never had this issue on the MTB and the furthest I rode on that was 13 miles.

I'm wondering if it's to do with me going to clipless on the road bike and that maybe my legs aren't quite straight / cleats aren't quite correct. I did also adjust the saddle height last night, I moved it up but not by much maybe 2cm or so as the saddle was still on the setting I picked it up from the shop.

Should I just MTFU and cycle through it? biggrin

Your saddle is too high biggrin

As a rough guide, with the pedal at the bottom of the stroke and your heel on it your leg should be straight.

Put it back to where it was before the pain started et voila, the pain will be gone thumbup
