On Board Computer 2003 MCS

Bought a 53 plate Cooper S a couple of weeks ago, it has the button on the indicator stalk for what I'm guessing is the on board computer, but when I press it, all that changed on the rev counter display is the temp and current speed. Should I be able to view fuel consumption/range etc as well or is there some upgrade to show this? I went through the gauge diagnostics where it lights everything up and cycles all the instruments and the likes of mpg/range etc were all displayed so it looks like the rev counter display will show it just not on normal running when pressing the button on the stalk.

IIRC MINIs of this vintage didn't have the OBC as standard unless the Chilli pack was specified.

My new 2003 MCS bought back then didn't have it as I didn't spec Chilli.

I seem to recall it could be retrofitted by a dealer though....
