Advice With Career and Possible Opportunities

Yet another post I am afraid looking for opinions and where possible, assistance, on what or where to go next.
Currently working as a "Graduate" Building Surveyor for a well sized firm. Like all graduates who have left Uni within the last 5 years, we are regarded as cheap labour. I have absolutely no qualms with this, providing a decent level of training and mentoring is provided in return in order to assist in progressing career wise with a view to becoming a chartered surveyor.
More recently I am getting pretty disillusioned with both the job and the career path.
I would prefer at this stage to consider what options, if any I may have. Not entirely sure how transferable the skills I have are and have considered a range of industries that would fit the qualifications and experience I have.
I've been thinking more and more about the Oil and Gas Industry and wondered how transferable any skills I have might be. If I am honest, I can't think that many are...
Really just looking for a role whereby hard work and perseverance will be rewarded rather than being stuck in a rut and 5 years from now have hardly moved on...
