Thanks, can I ask some more Q's ?
Discussion
Thanks for all your help and advice. I'm now a very proud owner of a '95 Chimera, 25k with new SO2's. Serpentine engine and Borg Warner box. It's Fernhurst supplied and serviced and their comment was "buy it, it's a proper car".
Whilst it's a great car it's 7 years old, so Q's are,
1, Should I deal with the stone chips (7 when I counted today (and yes my wife does think I'm a bit anal about it !) ? If so whats the best way to do them properly?
2, I want to make it as good as possible to look at, Fernhurst can deal with the oily stuff, I want to deal with the looks. I've read about chrome this and carbon that as extras. Where do I get them and what would you recommend ?
3, One scuffed alloy. Where can I get it sorted and any idea of the cost ?
4, Anything else I should do? Don't want a custom, just as original and nice as possible.
5, How long does it take for this ridiculous grin to come of my face ?
Once again, thanx....

Decided against the XJR then? I think you made the right choice!
Right then, answers to questions.
1. Stone chips - depends on severity, if it gets on your nerves a respray of the front end could be an option (could be pricey though), otherwise just do the best you can with touch up paint.
2. Zertec (www.zertec.co.uk) and Leven Technology (www.leventechnology.co.uk) both do extras for TVRs, these can be custom (non-standard) or merely bringing aspects of the car upto present spec. Light conversions from Zertec are the dogs (IMO of course)!
3. Refurbishing of alloys are usually about £45 a wheel, although this price was from a dealer. No doubt a local company will be able to do this cheaper (Yell Pages?)
4. See 2
5. From my own experience, never! Only problem might be getting used to the power and you'll want the next model up!
Good motoring and I'm sure you'll never tire of the car.

Thanks Dan, just looked at the suppliers sites, could see the plastic getting a bashing !
Why is it that the good lady felt that the extra exhaust baffles would be a good idea ???
Alan...
p.s. Correct on the XJR, 'spose as a Palace fan I've never followed my head anyway !
p.p.s Just looked at your pics as well, nice car..

Cheers Alan,
Just been for a quick run (is there any other with a Tiv) on the NY Moors and taken some new pics of the car (new alloys and mods from Zertec). I will have to update pics tomorrow (am browsing on ntl digital - toooo slowww and can't see any pics!)
Got any pics of yours up yet? I know what the missus means by the exhaust - that noise just needs to be heard.
Cheers
Dan.
p.s. Am a boro fan so I need my head looked at!

Dan,
no pics yet, spent the day cleaning. Doesn't anyone clean a car properly anymore ? The bit under the bonnet of the Chim above the rad looked like it had never seen soap and water.
Tried some Leather cleaner/conditioner, GT27 or something like that but it didn't do much good, still looks the same, just smells nice. Any ideas ?
McClaren for Leeds ?
