BAR get custody
Discussion
I still can not understand why he would want to leave BAR in the first place. that is a very good car with potential and honda are still getting more bhp from the engine even now. the reliability issues are not as significant and on many occasions, Button has been the only man to take the fight to Ferrari.
Was it money or did he really believe that the Wiliams was going to be a better car? Even after they risked everythign with the unusual nose on this years car. Lets face it, neither Montoya or Schumacher R have done anything to write home about this season! I think that Button was making a wrong move and I hope he puts it all behind him and can go back to working with BAR in the fashion that has rewarded both parties over the last 18 months.
I hope it hasnt created a rift in the team which can not be resolved

I think it is that Williams know how to win races and championships. They say wins are always easier for drivers once you've won one and I suppose its the same for teams. Alhough they have come close, BAR haven't won a race yet. Granted neither has Williams, but IMHO the likes of Williams and McLaren have more of a chance in the future than say BAR. I'm not sure BAR's success is sustainable (I hope it is).
BAR have been fortunate in that Williams and McLaren have struggled. 03 wasnt great for Williams, but they still won a race (well I think!).
Thats probably his (or his managments reasoning.
I'm sure this isn't finished with yet!

So Kramer Vs Kramer is over and Dave Kramer won and has custody of the prodigal son.
But what of the back stairs sprog that no-one wants to claim, will he shuffle away to his Monte-Carlo Hotel and take up residence on the top floor Willard White-esq? Or will he accept the enforced sabbatical and play dominos with Mika Hakkinen in his outdoors sauna. Claiming to return stronger then ever in 2006 and 2006 will be his year this time, absolutely, definately, Mika said so.
Who knows?
Who cares.
As long as something happens on the racetrack next year all this will be forgotten. I bet you have all forgotten about a similar CRB wrangle between Williams and McLaren over none other than the square jawed one after the 1995 season. Robot Ron won that one. Sir F has not got a good record in CRB decisions.
So Williams now have an empty seat crying out for a lion hearted racer to fill it, "I said racer Antonio, r a c e r".
I hear Nigel Mansell has bought a new race suit & helmet

I would find it highly amusing if, having won the contract war, BAR dropped Button anyway...
That 'll teach him.
Maybe his manager was to blame, but whatever the real story the way that Button sneaked around refusing to answer phone calls from Dave Richards wanting to know what the was going on, was well out of order.
Button behaved badly and refusing to talk to BAR lacked any grace or honour. If he does stay, he 'll have some bridges to build.

David Richards didn't behave very well either. It was agreed by all parties to keep the discussions private, then phoned the Times straight away. Gave some false into to the press and generally was the one leaking all the info. Lost a lot of his respect in the paddock.
Sooner JB gets rid of his managment the better (if he hasnt already)

I think you'll find Kramer are not in F1, but sports car racing
I agree about Coulthard: he got 13 wins, but has never managed to get the 14th win. So for those of you who don't think 13 is unlucky then...

Who's going to get the second Williams seat then? If FW has any sense he'll try and snap up Antony Davidson as quick as he can. I hope to God he doesn't sign DC
Agreed. If there's any sense () in F1 then Davidson, who's contracted to BAR, should be given leave for 2005 to drive for Williams so that when Button goes to Williams in 2006 Davidson can come back as a fully fledged F1 front runner to take up the seat vacated by Button. Too simple? But I don't see a seat for DC even in a non-points scoring 3rd car run by Williams. Shame DC didn't get the Sauba seat rather than Villeneuve, that was his last chance I think.
