Advice on Contracting (Day rating) as a draughtsman.

Evening Folks.

As the title suggests im looking for a bit of advice on searching for Contracting or day rating through a Ltd company as a draughtsman/Designer in the oil as gas sector.

Currently.....and I know im lucky to be where I am, 26 y.o Lead draughtsman (Staff) for an oil and gas related company in Aberdeen circa 3 years. Started my career off in 2005, I know im still very young into my career....and im unsure if making the right move so early in my career.

Background....

2005-current -AutoCAD User in busy drawing offices of varying sizes.
2010 - current - 3D Solidworks user. 3 course, essentials, weldments and sheet metal.

Reason for this post, if first off.....

Am I making the right move so early in my career?
If the consensus is it is the right move then, where do I search for such jobs?

Any info would be great, My dad has been doing this for circa 10 years (albeit not as a draughtsman) and he is struggling to find pros being staff, but he has been lucky with his contracts getting extended etc etc.
