Quick question;

I have a nice old cheap trackpump that does my MTB just fine.
Sarah now has 650c wheels and needs 100psi or so. My trackpump is not man enough.

So, I'm looking for a decent high pressure pump to live in the garage. Any recommendations?

Lezyne floor drive is good, there are several versions depending on your budget

Gamble on lidl / aldi when they next come around?

I say gamble as I've bought / seen both stores stock ones that vary from the terrible to the rather good.

I have a Joe Blow sport 2 that cost me £38 and does everything I need up to 120 psi with ease. The head has both shreader and Presta vales, and really is a sinch to pump tyres with even from completely flat.

You can't really go wrong with the Joe Blow or the Bontrager Charger. Both are around £25.

I prefer the Charger as the valve connector is less fiddly than the Joe Blow double sided one.

The Lezyne ones are very well made but you pay a bit more for the ones that are just as metal & plastic as the competition. I also don't like the way you generally need to screw them onto the valve. They look nice and feel like they're made to last though.

Once again, Lezyne gear sells itself. It's not even as if it's that much dearer than the competition, yet it is all so beautifully made.

Just bought one of these, pick it up tomorrow, seems to get decent enough reviews.

I've got some kind of Lezyne floor pump. My Joe Blow one is much better to use though. I keep the pretty one in a bag upstairs.

Another vote here for Joe Blow. Mine has been battered and abused for years, but still does the job just like new every time, and is quite happy up to 130 PSI at least.

With regards to the switch vs screw head question, the switch is fine for the track pump, but I wouldn't change my screw-on Lezyne mini-pump for anything! I hate hand pumps which clamp directly onto the valve, as I always feel like I'm going to snap the valve off.

Jo Blow all the way for me, best pump I've ever used. Easy to use, quick to get the pressure in!

Some aldi stores still have a few in stock, further reduced. Aldi Aylesbury has a large pile of them at iirc 6 quid.
Picked up a spare today to leave at my girlfriends house.

I really should grab a stack and put them on eBay, but I cycled over lol (ah the irony) :-)
They don't compare quality rise to the lezyne kit, but they are insanely cheap!

I've had a Joe Blow Sport II & it was THE WORST track pump I've ever had, especially with pressures upwards of 80psi. Worse than the £5 Lidl special I keep as a spare in the garage. Went for a Lezyne after that, expensive but very easy to use & everything feels very precise.
