Just got home and I'm meant to be going on my weekly Tuesday ride but it's 42C outside!

Somebody told me to go for a ride is on the brink of dangerous....seriously? Would you go for a ride?

At 42C I'd be doing my impersonation of a carp out of water and, that would be just sitting there. In pool with beer, is my advice.

Providing you take enough water I don't see the problem? I did 8 hours at 40c+ this summer

For a ride, yes - for a run, no.

Wind chill makes a big difference. Cover up, sun cream, plenty of fluids - and don't go nuts.

Rule 5.

I skipped after talking to a friend who went earlier. His Garmin reached 47C and he told me his shoes felt like they were melting to his pedals.

I didn't fancy that much.

So exchanged bike and lycra with pool, beer and swim shorts.

It's the same again tonight so it's down to the polo for a couple of Pimms, and a BBQ at mine followed by beers by the pool once again.

Really can't argue with the weather. hehe
