What's left of it is now being used for the production offices for the ITV series 'Vera'.

A bit sad and sorry really - all that engineering and manufacturing skill and experience gone and replaced with a small crew making average television.

A lot of the dock slips have been filled in now as well as most of the yard structures having been demolished....not to mention the old back to back streets leading right up to the yard perimeter than gave such iconic images as this....

And yet almost exactly due East lies Rendsberg, where high-quality superyacht building is still very much in full swing. Such a shame.

Wow I lived in the next street to this in 73-79, I was a kid lol but remember it like yesterday, my father and his brothers worked in the yard at Swan Hunter, sad times.
