Chaps, bone question I'm sure but any tips on maintenance? I have a hybrid and whilst I'm not overly bothered about a little bit of mud, any tips on post ride care? Specifically which lubes to get, how often to use and any other info would be superb. I know WD40 is a no-no but I had a look at the Evans Cycles website for lubes and came away more confused than when I started frown

Also, any recommendations for a good but sensibly priced (read cheap!) stirrup pump?

Many thanks!

Chris Sidwell's bike repair book is pretty simple to understand and the Park Tool website is brilliant. There is pretty much a dozen videos for every bike maintenance job on youtube too.

The Topeak Joe Blow pump is pretty hard to beat though everyone raves about the one that appears at Lidl in their bike sales...

Many thanks, I didn't even consider Youtube! Have now ordered some bits too to keep the bike in good order, I had no idea this could get so expensive laugh

Good floor pumps can be had quite readily actually; Zefal, SKS, Topeak.

Weldtite TF2 is great as a general purpose lubricant. If I've had a wet ride and can't be arsed to wash the bike I just give the moving parts a liberal coating of that and leave it until I next clean it. OR until I next ride and I've forgotten to clean and relube it. I'll just give it another liberal coating.

I got a pump from Amazon ages ago, with a dual head on, it's been great to be honest, when I worked in a bike shop we used to get through pumps pretty fast, so I do know it is not just cheap junk.

Amazon pump.
