Ever since I started working, my tax affairs have been straightforward, always PAYE, no other income. 3 years ago, I was asked to do my first SA form, which I did and got a couple of k back. Last year (2011-2012), I did the form, but it since came to my attention there was a massive error on my P11D form in that expenses incurred solely on company business were taxable. I wrote a letter to HMRC and they replied saying, nope, all in order as I never entered anything in the Travel and Subsistence section.

I now have to do one for 2012-2013. I'm not in possession of this year's P11D but I've filled in the form (not yet submitted) and this year, I apparently owe nearly £4k.

I've never been tax savvy so now want to see if I can minimise this as much as possible, if at all, so looking for someone to help me. Colleagues a few years ago told me I could include home-office expenses and the like, and I don't know what is / isn't permissable.

I've changed jobs since April this year and my tax code has changed a couple of times, I'm now coded 39T (higher rate tax payer)

Can anyone help and I'm absolutely happy to pay for professional advice if that's the best way forward.

TIA

YHM

I've tried e-mailing twice but keep getting error messages so not sure if the e-mails are getting through. Perhaps you could confirm if you received anything or not..

I've tried that and it has bounced back.

Is your e-mail address exactly as you have set it out above?
