Anybody know of somewhere for this? I have a Pentax Optio that has a problem with distortion on the photos (shows on the viewing screen too).

I took it to Jessops when it first failed and the cost for repair with them was more or less the same as buying a new camara, so I didn't bother (my wife got a Lumix.

Just doing some clearing out and wondering if it is fixable before it hits the bin......

I had something similar with my wife's Lumix (although was a focusing issue). Jessops wanted (iirc) £100 to look at it, let alone guarantee a fix.

Ended up buying a new camera for £150 and sticking the old one on eBay for 'spares or repairs' and got about £35-40 for it. Annoying but the sensible choice.

I took my daughters Canon into a small repair place in Brighton, they said the same sort of thing, by the time they've taken it apart and worked out what's wrong it's cost more than it's worth so on the basis that I couldn't make it worse, I took it apart and (luckily) fixed it myself.

Thanks guys. I think that I will go the eBay route and sell for spares or repair.
