Machine Shop anyone ?

On my quest to resurrect the Trabant I bought in a red wine/Ebay debacle.

Engine seized, as bits of melted piston are stuck in the bottom of the con-rod. Not sure if it's salvageable, but like to find out.

The engine is a 2 stroke, so everything seems to me more akin to (old) bike technology than cars.

Needs the expert eye of an old school engineer, not a schoolboy fitter...

Ideas ?

When you say aluminium is melted to the con-rod, how exactly? Is the piston actually seized to the rod or is it just fragments of the piston stuck to the rod? Pics would be most helpful.
