I have a gravity dropper - an earlier adopter as it helped me keep up with better riders and the others weren't available at the time - which features a mechanical 3 position drop. Having tried the more modern infinitely variable ones I find I don't like them as having fixed positions means you can set it up for fast flat riding - legs in the optimal road bike position - technical single track - a couple of inches lower but still allows you to develop good seated power - and fully dropped for when it gets steep. With infinitely variable height I found I was forever fiddling with the mid position height to get comfy.
Best reviews for the ones you mention seem to be the Reverb though from what I've read recently.

i recently bought a KS Lev. I would recommend it for the following reasons:
1. Reliability - faultless so far (have I just tempted fait?)
2. Cable operated (uses essentially a brake cable to easy peasy to fix / maintain as opposed to ridiculous hydraulic nonsense that needs bleeding that you seem to get on others)
3. Cable goes to the bottom of the post as opposed to the top, so no looping round when the seat drops.
4. Remote on the handlebar is small and discreet but easy to use. Can be mounted on left or right. When you turn the bike upside down to change a tube / tyre you won't end up breaking / damaging the remote like you can do on a reverb (unless you attach the remote under the handlebar)
Cons:
Pricey
Would I buy again?
Yes

I used a Joplin for a while, garbage! Loads of slop in the post and reliability was abysmal! I now have a Reverb, feels soooo much better, only done a handful of rides so far but it's been faultless. I got mine from Plant X, superb service and they use DPD

If I was asked to pick three items out of everything I own to recommend without reservation to friends and family, my Gravity Dropper would definitely be on the list.
Why?
Because I snapped it in half on Friday.
I'd had it for at least 5 years, and I weigh in at over 18 stone, so it's had some serious stress testing.
So I emailed the manufacturer in the States to ask if they had a UK service agent or parts supplier. I got an email back 15 minutes later apologising profusely for the inconvenience, inviting me to send it back to them for a free repair (they knew it was well outside warranty), and offering a complete return of all components for princely sum of $18!
It's currently sat wrapped up waiting to go to the post office. Simply outstanding service, and I'm so glad I made this choice 6 years or so back.
