Creak when pedalling hard...
Discussion
I bought one of these: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/cyclus-bottom-bracket-tool...
Worked a treat! Take both pedals off first, then use this tool and a socket set to remove the BB. Check for loose/creaking chainring bolts and loose/dusty creaky pedal first as that may be the cause.

My boardman increasingly creaks on the downstroke, left crank. Prob the BB30.
Not sure to attempt to grease up myself, take to a LBS, or use warranty and go back to Halfords (a relatively good one....)
Which Boardman? I have a Road Team Carbon (about 6 months old) and my left crank was also creaking on the downstroke last week. I took the cranks off, cleaned everything up and regreased, and went for a short ride on sat morning, and no creak... don't know how long it will last! Theres dust covers over the BB30 bearings but they slipped off easily and I smeared some grease inside and popped them back on. As above, not intending to buy the tools. Not sure to attempt to grease up myself, take to a LBS, or use warranty and go back to Halfords (a relatively good one....)
One weird thing - and I had to keep checking I wasn't going mad - is that on the 10mm allen socket theres a directional arrow saying "tighten". In fact, I had to go that direction to undo it, and obviously the opposite direction to do it up!
Actually, another weird thing, while im on a roll... the left crank arm has the part number CK-OS6020. While doing a bit of a search for installation/cleaning instructions on the web, I found a recall notice (for Canada) saying that that particular item should be taken back to the retailer for replacement...
It was from 2011 though...

Sounds like there are creaks everywhere
Pretty sure mine is the BB, doesn't matter if I'm seated or standing, anything over a light pedal and it does it.
I have the same problem. Creaks/clicks under load, whether seated or standing, on both sides. Cranks are tight, chainring bolts are tight, pedals are still pretty new, so by process of elimination I'm picking it's the BB. The bike's done less than 2000kms, so it might just need a tighten. Or it may be an excuse to upgrade to a better one: it's only a UN26, and it seems that a UN55 would be a direct replacement.

but I guess I'm just putting too much power through the cranks! Either that or it's just knackered
