I'm off with the GF around Europe for two weeks soon, and planning to camp, and stop off in Luxembourg. When Camping We'll be using a petrol stove, and I'm seeing an almost equal number of sites saying you can and cannot carry petrol in a jerry can in the country. Can anyone shed any light on this? Makes it difficult to carry fuel for the stove if not!

The carriage of petrol in 5litre cans is legal in the UK, no more than 10 litres can be stored at home address.
Not sure what other countries laws on the subject but I always carry a can full when on the continent as at night garages can be few and far between.
Who will know if you have a 5 litre can with you, a jerry can full ,20 litres, would be dangerous and a spillage hazard.
