UK records - diesel power

Where can I find any records for diesel cars in the UK over the 1/4 mile?

As far as I know there haven't been any purpose built drag racing diesel cars yet over here. There's one under construction that'll fix that though Duramax Diesel V8 in a pro stock truck chassis. Dyno'd 1150bhp/1690ft lbs.

Some stellar stuff in the states though, Banks Diesel dragster has run 6.9s@200+ now, Cole Dow's 4x4 stock weight Dodge Ram 9.3s. The Cummins 6BTA straight six is the one to have one day I'll drop one in the altered!

What about the diesel weasel! Ok it wasn't purpose built but was good fun to see such a big truck race

The huge plumes of black smoke gives a very bad impression when its quite possible for a tweaked diesel to run clean

On a PD type or common rail electronically controlled diesel yes, but nothing can match the brute force and fuel flow of a mechanical diesel which by their nature over fuel until they come on boost, this can be controlled to an extent with nitrous.

Plus who doesn't like rolling coal a little

The Maltese HGV tractor unit racers use NOS but I also hear propane can be used

A FWD diesel Seat Arosa from Darkside Developments ran 10.86 today.

Darkside are about the best there is not bad for a fwd street legal micro hatch!

Should go quicker too as its bit got the biggest injectors or turbo they could use.
