Keyword spam in the title sorry...

So I used to use endomondo pro for heart rate tracking with my android phone and bluetooth heart rate monitor. Apparently they moved the goalposts and made this a further step up to 'premium' a while back, which is a huge piss take in my opinion.

So, what free/cheap non subscription app will record routes and heart rate info, export it to gpx and ideally have a non offensive user interface?

I use strava android app but then i found it was very tempermental and unreliable. So ive started recording my rides on google my tracks which is compatible with hr monitors and its far more stable. It does have the rare accuracy glitch but you can adjust the parameters in settings unlike strava. You can upliad the files to google earth and my maps as well as strava if you want but im not sure how the comparisons to other riders is supposed to work then. Theres also map my ride too.

You can export it as a GPX file and manually upload it to Strava. I've no idea if that works with and includes information from HRMs etc though.

Having said that i dont know if strava is accurate either. Theres a map app called maverick which records the track and overlays it over various maps particlary o.s. Maps which i find very usefull and you can calibrate the gps position against the map so its very accurate. Orux maps too may be worth a look but i find the interface a bit difficult to understand. However im not sure if these last two accept hr monitors, as theyre more for navigation.

Hmm I used to use mytracks years ago but they reduced the amount of data points massively so an hours 20 mile ride would be 3 files or so.

Still, I'll revisit it. Maverick etc I have, but it doesn't do HRM.
