Carrera Subway according to the writing on the side!
Haven't ridden a bike properly since I was about 18... And I'm 32 now!
Someone kindly 'long term lent' me a mountain bike a year ago and I only used it once and hated it. It felt massive, heavy and hard work. The knobbly tyres were clearly not for the road either.
I live in a town so needed something for roads and cycle paths, and then realised a Hybrid bike (never heard of them before) would be a good idea, and ended up with this off a local chap.
I know it's probably an old banger, but I have to say, it rides fantastic. Feels really light and easy to pedal, got up a bit of speed in a few meters
The gears seem fine as well, shifts up and down ok, but sometimes as you ride you can hear that slight clicking sound as though its on the brink of getting the next gear. How do I adjust this please?
Maybe I should think about a helmet or something now...

It's normally just that the barrel adjuster needs a bit of adjustment.

If the rear derailleur is fine, not bent, etc. It's normally as simple as lining the top jockey wheel up with whatever cog the chain is on. There is also a barrel adjuster that comes out of the end of the shifter so you can do this on the move.
